Sometimes you just need to get away; and you deserve it! To celebrate a successful first trimester for baby #3, our family went to Florida. We were gifted a timeshare week, got plane tickets using airline miles, and only went to the Magic Kingdom for one 15-hour day. My 5- and 3-year-old girls slept on a pull-out couch together all week, and we only ate out at dinner. We are now tanned, relaxed, and ready to welcome spring here on Cape Cod. It was in the 40’s when we left, but hit 70′ here yesterday! Sometimes we need “treats” even if we don’t believe we have “earned” them. As a Type A, I rarely feel that I have accomplished enough by the time my head hits the pillow each night. It is not easy for us to leave our businesses, and there is a mountain To Do upon our return. However, we gave ourselves the “treat” of vacation!
If you give more to yourself, you can ask more from yourself. Self-regard isn’t selfish.
